平松 輝子
平松輝子(1921-2019)はAGOに参加し、生前の坂田より前衛の活動を引き継ぐように手紙をもらう。 1966年にニューヨークの画廊で個展し、美術評論家のジョン・キャナデイ（ＮＹタイムズ）や他紙で高く評価され各地でも展覧会を開く。さらに1972年に渡独し十数年にわたり約３０回、美術館や画廊で個展などを開催。アメリカでは偶然デ・クーニングの昔のアトリエで制作し知遇を得る。ドイツではボイスの故郷クレフェルドに住み彼と出会いを果たす。アメリカでは「みやび」な作品を発表し、ドイツでは静謐な「わび・さび」の白の世界を発表して日本の伝統文化を紹介した。帰国後は神道文化に影響を受けた「黒」のシリーズや光に満ちた世界を金銀で表す「金･銀のシリーズ」を発表。墨やアクリル絵の具を駆使し、日本の伝統絵画を踏まえながら新たな抽象絵画を描いた。彼女はアメリカにおいて日本人で最初にアクリル絵の具を使い展覧会をしたといわれた。それは和紙にアクリルをしみさせキャンバスにコラージュした。ドイツでは同様にキャンバスに墨で絵を描いた。それらは日本と西洋の融合だった。
平松は日本の漢字や仮 名文字を題材としていたが、それらの作品はいわゆる「書道」 ではない。そもそも漢字は中国で生ま れたが、物の形のイメージ
を具体的な形にしたものだ。平松は その文字の原点に戻り、新たに自分なりの文字を作り出す 。文字は既成の字体てはなくなり、絵として画面の中に自由に配置される。こうして新たな書は文字から脱却
して 東洋独自の抽象画になった。字はなくなり書道の既成の概念を破り革新する。それは形にこだわることなく無碍自在に自己のリズムを表現する芸術である
。また、同時に日本の伝統の系譜である「わ び ・さ び」「禅」 の世界を表すものだった。
Teruko HITRAMATSU (1921-2019)participated in AGO and was requested to take
over the avant-garde art activities from Mr. Sakata before the elder’s
passing. ln 1966 she held a private exhibition in New York City which was
highly praised by the New York Times John Canaday, as well as exhibitions
in various other places. She lived in Germany for more than ten years from
1972,holding about 30 private exhibitions in art museums and galleries.
ln the United States,she created works in a studio where De Kooning had
previously worked also meeting him by chance. By chance she also met Joseph
Beuys in Germany when she lived in his hometown. She exhibited “Miyabi”(elegant)works
in the United States and whitish “Wabi” and” Sabi” works in Germany. She
introduced Japanese traditional culture to Germany. After returning to
Japan, she exhibited the Shinto-influenced ”Black” series and the ”Gold
and Silver ”series which depicted a light-filled world using the gold and
silver paper media. She created a new abstract art based on Japanese traditional
painting using “Sumi” and acrylic media. She said that she held an exhibition
using an acrylic color First by Japanese. That made acrylic fiber soak
into Japanese paper, and it was collaged in canvas. A picture was drawn
by ”Sumi” in canvas equally in Germany. It was fusion in Japan and Western
country.
Although Hiramatsu dealt with the Chinese and Japanese syllabary, those
works cannot bedescribed as ”shodo calligraphy.”The Chinesecharacter emerged
in China to express an image of the form. Hiramatsu returned to the characters'
origin and recreated her own new forms.Then a character was no longer an
established character style, but was pictorially arranged on a canvas.
In this way, a new writing freed itself from established meaning and became
an original orientalistic abstract arrangement.The characters' meanings
vanished, the established concept of shodo calligraphy was broken into
its elements and reformed by her. Thiswas art which expressed its own rhythm,free
from adherence to form.adherencef to form. It simultaneously showcased
the world of ’＇wabi”， ”sabi” and ”zen”hence the genealog川 of Japanese tradition
